About Pendula

Pendula is an Australian scale-up and SaaS software business with global offices in Australia, the UK, EMEA, and Singapore.

We enable businesses of all sizes to leverage their existing data and layer on real-time insights from external sources to identify meaningful moments of truth for their customers. Harnessing the possibilities of generative AI, the platform empowers teams with faster and more sophisticated automation capabilities than ever before, using hyper-personalised, two-way conversations across multiple channels at scale.

Using our next-gen Customer Engagement platform, Pendula aims to help marketing and customer experience teams improve customer retention, reduce churn, and build robust, long-lasting relationships based on empathy and trust.

Our culture

We’re passionate about our product and customers and everything we do is underpinned with integrity: we don’t rip people off, take shortcuts and we only make good products that people need.

Which also sums up how we treat each other. On top of all of that, we’re a bunch of lovely humans who listen and support each other and our customers. We treat everyone as equals and communicate our shared vision regularly.

The role

As a junior designer, you will be required to apply your design thinking, creativity, knowledge and skills to various situations, working to a brief agreed upon with your manager. You may be conducting more than one design brief at a time and will learn to manage and monitor your resources accordingly.

Typical work activities may include:

  • Meeting internal stakeholders to discuss the objectives and requirements for different briefs, then developing and refining briefs by gathering information and data through research, within the constraints of cost and time
  • Demonstrating thinking skills with rough sketches, contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief, and presenting finalised ideas and concepts to multiple stakeholders
  • Working with a wide range of media, including web, photography, illustration, situated works, animation and other media relevant to a particular brief;
  • Working as part of a cross-functional team within the company: particularly product, design & marketing teams; but also sales, customer success, engineering, and security & privacy teams; and external marketing managers, photographers, stylists, operational specialists, printers, developers and other collaborators from project to project;
  • Keeping abreast of movements and changes in visual culture, emerging technologies in new media (particularly design programs commonly used by the team), new web technologies and standards in print and digital);

About you

You are in your final year of study and/or have at most 2 years of professional design full-time work experience. You are ready to present a portfolio from your studies or personal projects demonstrating your passion for designing clean and elegant solutions.

You have an excellent fundamental understanding of what makes a good design based on key design principles and can articulate ideas and concepts to non-design audiences.

You enjoy working collaboratively and in cross-functional teams in a highly dynamic and ambiguous environment!
